Hello my fellow readers. It’s been a while and I have missed the blogging world. I’ve been away, just enjoying my summer and taking in some sun rays. I have always avoided the sun and hid inside my house on hot-humid summer days. This summer I chose to explore the city in shorts, a t-shirt and summer footwear. It’s been fun and a bit awkward at the same time but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.
Alas, let’s talk about some fashion. I’ve been busy working and enjoying my summer, that I have been late catching up on Menswear for SS2014. I’ve caught up and it has been an interesting season for men. I love the casual-dandy-ish styling from London Fashion week to the very sporty-chic in Milan Fashion week.
I love that everyone is starting to look into what Christopher Kane has to say about menswear. He is always a favorite of mine to look at. His interpretation of color and pattern is a bit much but very easy on the male eye.
One of my personal favorite runway show this season was Dries Van Noten in Milan. This entire collection had a floral pattern on every piece shown. It was sown and printed on shorts, pants, tanks and on outerwear. I have seen some men in Chicago, get very ballsy and wear some type of floral pattern. I love this look and I hope more men embrace it, it is romantic yet masculine at the same time. For those dark and eerie fashion guys, Anne Demeulemeester had a fantastic dark floral collection as well.
Other trends I saw were a lot of tunics, almost every designer had their own interpretation but Rick Owens was on of my favorite. The color Blue always make an appearance and this time it was used on everything. It looked cool and manly, Hermes had it on patterns, btw Hermes has stepped up their game and this collection made took this luxuries company to a whole other level, it was amazing. The Bermuda shorts came back!! We saw this trend make a few splashes for Spring 2013 and this time many designers played with this short and made it very fashionable. Comme de Garcon made it very hip!
Before I end this, I have to say that during my research I have discovered a new brand, E. Tautz. It’s been in business, from Great Britain since 1867. According to Style.com they have been showing in London’s Men’s Fashion Week since Fall 2009. I, personally, have never seen pictures or heard of them. This season they have been on the radar and always came up when I was doing some sort of work research. Designs were on trend, colors were good and styling was great. Something worth looking into.
until next time! (hopefully not too long)
