Hi! I am groggy from a fantastic fourth night Latino Fashion Week event. Last night event showcased some amazing latino talent.
Let’s start with celebrity designer Robert Rodriguez. Robert’s garments have been worn by celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, my personal favorite Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland and other fantastic women. The evening wear presented was beautiful in monochromatic colors. My favorite look was his version of a motorcycle jacket paired with metallic looking pants. Also, the nights musical guest Son’s of Mariel played live as the models walked down the runway.
Up next is Claudia Arce from Argentina. Claudia is a well known in her country and we are glad that Latino Fashion Week has finally showcased her talent. Arce’s fashion house delivered haute couture garments for this event. She showed her SS 2014 collection and like the trends, a lot of white came down the runway and well as yellows, pinks and blues in pastels. My favotie look was a floor length yellow gown, that made the model look like she was gliding down the runway. Dresses were elegant, no wonder the Argentine celebreties and socialites love to wear her clothes.
To close the nights event was Maria Rosario Mendoza for Takamasi, a fashion house from Guadalajara, Mexico. This Emmy award winner, designs for both women and men, thank you for that. You notice the Mexican cultural reference was the theme for her Spring/Summer 2014 collections. Also, staying in trend for color of the season. For men, I noticed a lot of sportswear, also a theme for men spring/summer 2014. Maybe I’m being biased but I really liked these two collections.
